Face Time
A needle is my tool, thread is my medium and stiches are my mark. I embroider, wrap, embellish and paint different materials and found objects and then hand stitch them together. My pieces are presented as tableaus in bas-relief, with scenery, props and characters portraying an enhanced and selective reality. The needlework appears fine and delicate, yet it is also versatile and sturdy enough to bind a collection of seemingly disparate parts together. I am interested in universal, playful narratives having to do with human connections and the passage of time.
